At home in the year 2020 painting, blue interior with pink lights on walls and a sofa from a window with a pink cloudy sky
At home in 2020. acrylic on canvas, 80 x 120 cm - available for sale
"Having the Blues" series began during the pandemic of 2020, when we were confined indoors and the outside world became distant, visible only through a window. There was a deep stillness then, paired with uncertainty. Life felt heavy, almost suffocating.
In that silence, the ordinary became magnified. Each painting captures a quiet corner of home—a chair, a sofa, a cat, a heater, a splash of sunlight.
Through stark compositions, defined lines, and predominantly blue tones, these works explore the emotional terrain of isolation, solitude, anxiety, introspection, and resilience. Though the spaces are empty of people, they are rich with silent stories.
This series is a visual journal of moments in time marked by separation and reflection, offering a space to contemplate vulnerability, connection, and the hope that carried us through.
"Having the Blues" is a gentle reminder: to slow down, to look around, and to be grateful for the ordinary moments that quietly shape our days.
