However, it was the year 2020 that marked a significant turning point for Mirela as an artist. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic compelled her to rekindle her passion for painting and artistic creation. Driven by a personal need to express her emotions, concerns, and ideas, she embarked on a creative journey, viewing art as a lifeline that not only sustained her but also offered others glimpses of beauty and hope.
As a mixed media artist, Mirela primarily focuses on storytelling and the profound experience her creations evoke in viewers. Among the various artistic mediums she employs, she finds the greatest joy in painting with watercolours and acrylics.
Through her art, she dives deep into the multifaceted nature of existence, exploring the nuances, struggles, and beauty that define our modern society. Her works reflect the profound impact of these experiences, inviting viewers to observe, contemplate and appreciate the subtleties of the world around them. Among her esteemed influences, she holds a deep admiration for artists such as David Hockney, Van Gogh, Karen Hollingsworth, Heidi Palmer, Geta Bratescu, and Constantin Brancusi. Their mastery, innovation, and artistic vision continue to shape and inspire her own creative endeavours.
